About
About TaxCompare
A neutral way for freelancers and remote workers to compare the real tax and social-contribution burden across European countries.
This page is maintained in English. Translations elsewhere on the site are provided for convenience; the English version of our methodology and legal pages is the authoritative one.
Who builds TaxCompare
TaxCompare is built and maintained by AppCraft Studio. It grew out of a practical need: freelancers and remote workers deciding where — and under which regime — to work rarely have a neutral way to compare the real tax and social-contribution burden across European countries.
How we work
We model each country’s main freelancer regime(s) from official and reputable sources, keep every value version-controlled with the source it came from, and review the data on a recurring schedule. We are transparent about assumptions and about what the tool does not cover.
We do not sell your data, and the calculator does not require an account. Any future partner or affiliate links will be clearly disclosed.

This is an indicative calculator for information only, not tax advice. It models the main freelancer regime(s) with the simplifications listed above and uses dated ECB/NBU exchange rates. Verify with a local accountant before making decisions.
